Azure Educational Pricing?

Hi,

 

Does anyone know if you can get Educational Pricing on Azure?

 

I'm looking specifically at Recovery Services and backup.

 

I'd also like some more info on the recovery instance, for example i know i can replicate my domain controller, but is it better to buy a small vm and use ad replication?

Using the first option I'm looking at around £32 pm.

 

If i look at the second option, i could probably get away with am A0 at £8pm or then it's be an A1 at £35 pm.

 

For the storage, which is where the real cost would end up being, it's around £300 pm for 3TB. Now as far as cloud backup goes i know that's not bad, but it's still a lot.

 

My last question is, if i where to replicate my SIMS server to azure recovery service, would it just be the 1 instance and the storage cost or, what?

 

Has anyone any experience deploying any of this?

Is there a sales team directly at MS i can speak to? A reseller who had done this and can advise?

 

If anyone going to bett could at least ask if they do discounts for education and where is best to get the info that'd be great!

Yes you can, I attended a webinar before Christmas that was discussing the benefits/potential options for Azure in Education and it highlighted that there is acadmeic pricing available through a reseller/partner and that you can also tie it into your OVS-ES/EES agreement if you wish too.
