GChusonis Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Hi Everyone I am new to EduGeek after chatting at the BETT show yesterday, and I wonder if you may be able to help... I am not sure if this is a Server issue, or workstation, so I will post in boith, but the issue is this. When users log onto the system first thing in the morning, they do not recieve the correct profile that they should. These functions do not work... Email (MS Outlook) Correct desktop background Internet (auto sing into Smoothwall) SIMS Correct Printers Once a machine is restarted a few times, it is all good, however, this never used tohappen. We have built a new mandatory profile and still have the same issues. SOmetimes, if we delete the common folders and profiles form the machine, it works ok after that too... I have also built a new machine (MDT), flushed DNS settings and the same issue still resides. We have had this issue since November 2014 - so was there any Server updates that may have broken something? what else should I be looking for? I am really struggeling now and dont know what else to look for - can anyone offer any advice? has anyone had this heppen to them? I hope someone can help..... Glenn
cullingsh Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) Hi Glenn, Have you removed any DC/DNS Servers. Had a similar issue yesterday and tracked it down to stuff not replicating properly (found by running a repadmin /showrepl in a command prompt on the server). After tidying up the DNS to remove remnants of a couple of decommissioned servers, all seems better. Shaun Edited January 22, 2015 by cullingsh
GChusonis Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 Hi Shaun No - havent tried that - would I just run these on both DC's?
cullingsh Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I did mine on just one dc and it highlighted an issue. Didn't try it on the other! Shaun
