AnnDroyd Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 I can't disable offline files on an XP Tablet PC. Been to tools, folder options, but the offline files tab is missing. Offline files are also disabled in group policy for all users and computers but when I log off, it still tries to sync the home directory.
originofsymmetry Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Have you disabled Offiline Files on the share itself? In Server 2003 right click the folder and click Share, on this tab there's a button called Cache (or similar) click on it then change the setting to Files or folders will not be available offline, first thing I do on a new share to prevent this
Iain Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Hi, Take a look at How to re-initialize the offline files cache and database (method 2). This should clear the offline files cache on the PC and stop it synchronizing. Iain.
originofsymmetry Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Was this setting in effect befiore the laptops were issued for use? This is weird but on the server here we never explicity disabled offline files and then someone right clicked on a folder and selected "make available offline" and despite applying group policy thereafter to stop it, it still does it regardless - this then affects everyone who logs on to the machine tohugh it never bothers any of the others. Who uses this laptop? Hope thats all clear
