noohad Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Hi guys, Anyone out these using 4Matrix? If so, do you find that it's quite slow processing any data? Many thanks Noohad
Dkeen94 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Hey, We have been using 4Matrix since the previous exam season! When you say processing data, do you mean pulling it out of SIMS?
fiza Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 No problems reported here. We had every teacher in school on it yesterday during a staff briefing and no one had any issues.
noohad Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 When a client logs onto 4matrix, even loading the dashboard is very slow. It could well be the way I've installed this. I've got this running on a dedicated server running Win 2012 R2. Went ahead with all the default settings. On client machines I've installed the software as opposed to running off a shared area. Any tips? - - - Updated - - - Fiza - people can log in fine and use it - it's just very slow. Not sure if there are any tweaks I need to do. Thanks
fiza Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 I don't remember tweaking anything. Just followed the instructions they sent me. I have the server side on a VM and I deploy the clients via Group Policy.
noohad Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 VM or physical shouldn't matter? Not really sure what else I can try. I followed the same document from 4matrix. Thanks anyway mate.
timetableman Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Hi noohad, We had a similar problem, the problem was found to be the size of the photos for our students, we were using 76kb jpgs, which is fine for normal use, but excessive in a 2cmx2cm thumbnail in 4Matrix, we used ifranview to resize the images down, and found a massive increase in the speed of processing. - 4Matrix reloads all the photos into the background of each screeen ready for when you hover over a data item. We were using Facility so we created a copy of the images (synced the photos) and scheduled irfanview to produced 5kb image files instead.
noohad Posted January 26, 2015 Author Posted January 26, 2015 That's great. Thank you ever so much. I'll see what the data staff have been adding onto it. Could well be the photographs. Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you.
