limawhiskey Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Been looking into some online technical training for our team (three techs, one VLE developer and one graphic designer). Classroom technical training is on the whole prohibitively expensive for the school's staff training budget. Does anyone use online companies they recommend? Any to avoid? I have seen offerings from; ITonlinelearning (agents and support are UK based, Live Labs option, pricing TBC) Infinte Skills (large pool of content, no labs?, $900 for a team of five) CBT Nuggets (slick content, virtual labs, but probably too expensive - almost $1k per user per year) Anyone recommend any others?
manc_techie Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I've used CBT Nuggets previously on an in-house server and found it really useful, this was offered in conjunction with classroom based training though. They used to do a free trial so might be worth a look at with your team to see if it fits their needs.
strawberry Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Cbt nuggets are good, but a little expensive. Have a look at labsim/testout , they do very good edu pricing. Think it was about £40 per course. Worth looking at MVA as well, its freeeeeee.

Kitkatninja Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Have you looked into the Microsoft IT Academy program?
Soulfish Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Personally I use a combination of Safari Books Online for all the IT books I could ever want and PluralSight for all the training videos I want
