Hi All,

We have a piece of RISING STARS software that has an XLSM spreadsheet for use as an assessment tracker, however it will not open on a particular teachers laptop. No error message is given other then an 'Open, Save, Save As' message and the when you click 'Open' an Internet Explorer error saying it cannot open the web page (not surprising as it's on a shared drive on the server)! It appears to open and then just sits there with a blank Excel window...

Initially I was trying to troubleshoot security centre settings, macro security, trusted location etc. But I notice on another machine that can open it, that the file seems to want to open in IE, then opens the Excel window and this is the preferred behaviour, it just doesn't happen on the one I need it to.

I have found the solution for XP computers or older versions of IE, but can't find anything more recent. So basically when the file is opening in IE it opens an Excel window instead and this is how it SHOULD work. But it seems that on this laptop it is opening the file in the same IE window and failing.

Any ideas?

Kol.
