Hello and a good morning..

Need some direction with this as it's a Friday my head is all over the place...

Some pointers are required for the following:

3 X Laptops. with VPN access from home etc.

2 X Sites , Site A and Site B

Both sites have server 2008 R2.

Have been allowed cross site access with the 3 laptops not tested yet!!!

Windows 7 Pro Laptops require static ip addresses for the above.

Correct me/ direct me if i'm barking up the wrong server rack.

Would the users have problems accessing the internet @ home with a static ip address?

I have set 1 of the laptops with a static ip address and reserved it.

Testing of a static ip address @ work results in it requires DHCP to be enabled on the laptop because it will not allow access to the Internet.

What am i missing here?

Any ideas?

Yes, unless your range is the same as the home router (192.168...).

Set the ip to come from DHCP. When you reserve it on the server, DHCP will assign it that address each time provided you have entered the right MAC address... so kinda like a static, but then the laptop will work at home too, as it will pick up the address from the home router.
