[sims] SIMS update 7.161 The Joys who can spot the difference?

Morning All,

 

Had soooo much fun yesterday afternoon trying to deploy out the latest version of SIMS. As anyone would expect you think you could use the previous parameters from SIMS 7.159 to deploy out the latest version SIMS 7.161 but no clearly some at Capita is having a wind up with us all!

 

Please see the below the two command line enters for deployment of Sims across the network. It only took me an Hour and a half to spot the problem myself:

 

SIMS 7.159:

 

SIMSApplicationSetup.exe /S {QuietMode} {NoServerApps} [sIMSDotNetDirectory]="C:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net" [sIMSDirectory]="S:\SIMS" /NOREPORTVIEWER

 

SIMS 7.161:

 

SIMSApplicationSetup.exe /S {QuietMode} {NoServerApps} [sIMSDotNetDirectory]="C:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net" [sIMSDirectory]="S:\SIMS" /NoReportViewer

Other than the last flag is not all in caps you mean?

Well Done your the Winner Absolute joke that the latest version has all of a sudden now become case sensitive. As the parameters worked perfectly fine in the previous version of SIMS!! Didn't get out of work till nearly 6pm due to this uninformed error

There is a simple solution to the headache. Solus 3 (yes I admit it could be a headache to setup to begin with, but subsequent updates are generally reliable)
