Logged into chrome browser on our new VLAN gives us "redirect loop" on google search

Hey all and happy new year...

 

Over the holidays we had a new VLAN and WLAN set up so we could have a transparent proxy for our chromebooks... It all seems to work perfectly fine except one issue...

 

When you log into a chromebook (using an account under our "Google for apps for edu" domain, personal accounts DO NOT have this issue) and you try to do a google search, it says that you have a "redirect loop"

I can reproduce this error on a windows 7 PC if I log into chrome browser (browser itself, not just the website login) and try to do a search.

 

 

We are totally baffled. We have set up test users under our google domain and cleared them of all restrictions and settings but still no luck...

 

 

An interesting thing as well is that it seems to show results for your search for about half a second, before you get the error. Which seems to imply that maybe we are getting the result back, but its being confused on the way back in?

 

any ideas?

Wireshark is showing lots of "TCP dup ACK" and "TCP retransmissions" ... just investigating what this means
