ass17 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Anyone know how I can get access to my photos off the phone? The phone is stuck at the Google coloured dots bit. It's been stuck there for nearly 24hours. I can't afford to lose them before I factory reset the phone.
Joanne Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 take it nothing comes up when you plug it into a PC then? Can you soft reset? What phone is it? Hindsight: set photos to sync to the cloud (be it Google drive, dropbox etc etc).
abillybob Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Check your Google Account and then go into photo's. I think your phone automatically uploads the photo's for backup there. Otherwise your pretty much stuck.
Arthur Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Which phone do you have? Google Nexus 4, 5, 6, HTC One M8, LG G3, Moto X 2014?
Ant Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Is this an OTA update or have you manually flashed it? My Nexus 7 was stuck on the splash screen until I locked the bootloader again. Having said that, unlocking and locking the bootloader wipes the device anyway so probably no help here.
ass17 Posted December 19, 2014 Author Posted December 19, 2014 Cheers folks, I checked and everything is backed up on google, and I mean everything. So I reset the phone and restored the backup. The update just appeared last night for the nexus 5 on Vodafone. 13.3MB in size, so very minor update.
cookie_monster Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Where did you go to see your backups? When I've looked for any data other than photos from my tablet I'm unable to view the data.
ass17 Posted December 27, 2014 Author Posted December 27, 2014 When you factory restore your phone and go through the post-install questions and signin with you google account it will ask you if you if you ant to restore a backup.
cookie_monster Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 But before you factory restore how do you verify that the backup is actually there?
ass17 Posted December 28, 2014 Author Posted December 28, 2014 Don't think you can, I was only bothered about the photos/videos which you can access via Google+ They were all there nice and safe, used google keep for notes, google contacts and Google email and Google drive. So all the important stuff was on the cloud. I guess if you logged into another android phone with your Google account and see if offers you the chance to restore... 1
