Visual Studio 2013 - An error occurred while applying your selected settings

When I try and start Visual Studio 2013 under a (limited) student account they select their environment style and click OK to proceed. An error then comes up saying 'an error occurred while applying your selected settings please restart microsoft visual studio'

 

Once they launch Visual Studio again it comes up fine!

 

Less limited ('Power Users') staff accounts work first time!

 

Any ideas what is going on?
