Radio Comms

Anyone into scanning radios on here these days?

 

If so anyone come across SDR, often used to interface with other ones to track planes and boats, anyone provide a bit of help, having some issues getting it to work properly.

Not got one to try yet but want to get a realtek tv stick that can be used for this.

I've got the USB version that I was recommend to buy, just cannot get the software working for it!

I still do it with hardware...

Still have HF, VHF, UHF radios here!

 

Alas as almost everything is digital nowadays there's not much to eavesdrop on anymore.

 

What is still analog is trunk tracked or split frequencies.

 

I keep it handy ready for the zombie apocalypse.

 

When it comes (and it will) good old fashioned radio Comms will quickly come back into fashion as cellphones and the Internet stop working.

 

I will be ready, me and Alex Jones calling CQ CQ....

I still have my Ham stuff but as m25man said not much going on.

I got one of the RTL usb sticks going on a linux machine. Interesting enough but I never found an application for it - and the stuff I could tune in to wasn't all that interesting.
