Decommission Exchnage 2007 after Office 365 Migration

Has anyone who have migrated to Office 365 from exchange 2007 decommissioned the after after the migration? If so is there anything i need to be aware of? Im guessing its not just a case of uninstalling exchange on the server?

On exchange 2010, i just did it through remove and un-install programs. It goes through all the steps you need to do to de-commission it.

Does this do anything hokey to the AD ? e.g. will it remove the mail attribute from a users account ? I've an exchange server I've not got round to decommissioning yet but I need that field for GAFE

Didn't when I did it. All the attributes stayed.
