Sanyo PLC-XE40 Wont Turn (Remote Code problem?)

Hello

I have the orange Sanyo PLC-XE40 projector that won't connect to my universal remote.

Red light is on all the time but will not power on. Remote is fine as I have tried it on different projector.

I've tried setting the remote to all the SANYO remote codes listed under TV/Projector on the manufacturer code's list that came with this Universal remote.

Also have cleaned it and checked for needed replacements.

Any ideas?

Hi I am having the same issue. I have accidentally changed the remote code to code 2, but I have a universal remote that only works with code 1. Now I can't turn on the device or anything. I dont have the original remote so I cant switch to code 2. Anyone know if I can reset the remote codes back to the original?

If I remember, there is a reset button on the back of these projectors, near the inputs. This might do it.

 

Otherwise you need a remote in mode 2. Hold menu and image buttons for 10 seconds to change the remote, then change the projector in the menus. Can you borrow one?

 

In theory, you can control them via the mini-din serial port, and access the menu that way, but its probably not worth the hassle on such an old projector.

Thank you for your help. We tried that with the remote but it did not work. It is likely because we are using a universal remote. We just put in an order for a OEM replacement remote, to try that. The reset button sadly did not fix the issue I will keep you posted on our progress once the OEM remote comes in.
