Multiple versions of sql on one server

Just a quick ask really people.

 

We have a full version of sql 2014 installed, but Autocad Vault won't install install without sql 2008 sp3 express? Install fails

 

I am assuming this is because we have SQL already. Does anyone know if it is possible to have SQL2008 and 2014 on teh same server? I am pretty sure it is fine but just want to run it past you.

I had big problems when I inadvertantly installed SQL Express on my SCCM Server running proper SQL. Some daft Office 365 component that hid the option "use the existing SQL install" as a /switch, rather than, say, offering it as an option in the install process...

 

So I'd be very, very careful, though there may be steps you can take to mitigate the horrific levels of damage I inflicted (necessitated a complete restore from snapshot to fix it).
