APS Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Hi everyone, just a question, does anyone know how to change a IP address of a server to work to my standed router IP address? Reason why I ask is that the IP address that the CC4 server is configured for, my broadband provider is not letting it work or something. Thanks.
jamesreedersmith Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 What it is not doing that you expect it to be doing? are they in the same subnet range? is your server configured to use the router as its gateway? is there a firewall/proxy on the network?
Roberto Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Hi everyone, just a question, does anyone know how to change a IP address of a server to work to my standed router IP address? Depending on the exact layout of the network, I would be very careful about this - I would certainly expect any well behaved router to be able to conform to your internal network structure, not force you to configure your internal network to its needs. And please don't take this the wrong way but I can't think of a 'gentler' way of saying this: if you have to ask how to change a server's IP address then you probably shouldn't do it at all. This has the potential to cause more problems than its likely to solve without an experienced hand at the tiller.
Chris_ Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 You should really be getting your network manager to be doing things like this. I'd be pretty annoyed if I found out that the head teacher had taken a server home so that they could work on files...
