Printing Images At Their Actual Size

Does anyone know of a way to print an image the size it actually is? All the methods we've tried insist on printing them full page or 6x4 or whatever. Ideally this would be a simple bulk process not one which requires tinkering each file/print job as we have loads which need printing.

Kludge would be to be to import them into word. Or even Paint Shop Pro or some such, Even The Gimp will work.

 

Problem is, actual size is subjective, which is why its a head ache. Its all about the DPI & resolution. Do you mean screen size? (depends on how big your screen is and what resolution it is set at).

 

So what size are you talking about? How many pixels? What DPI? How big do you want them? What are you printing them out on?

Importing them into Word would work, but the teacher in question is looking for a less clunky solution as they have 20+ images to print every few weeks.

 

As for exact definitions of "actual size", the teacher is after it coming out as AxB pixels/DPI which is of course printer-specific, but is at least a known size on the specific printer they are using. At present, all we seem able to do is expand/compress the image to fit whole page A4 or standard photographic dimensions. I'm not sure exactly what they are trying to print, probably either scale diagrams or cropped sub-sections of larger images.

I'd use the Windows photo printing wizard... you can choose to print full page, or multiple images per sheet.
