Mouse buttons switching randomly!

We are having an issue where every so often a user reports that there mouse functions are switch left to right! At 1st we solved it by changing the mouse and deleting the mouse drivers, which worked for a few days, then the issue reappeared for the same users. Then we did a little more investigation and found that when they opened up internet explorer, it seemed to be that what was causing the issue.

But now it seems to be reappearing randomly, even if the user isn’t opening IE. We have done a malware scan and av scan and found nothing. Other than a restart nothing seems to cure it.

I've seen this with wireless mice when the batteries are on the way out.

Unfortunately the mice are not wireless!
