But what is the first components of system centre 2012r2 i need to install? - orchestrator? configuration manager is the one you want, you might find you don't need any of the rest of it such as service manager, orchestrator, dpm etc. Although if you use Hyper-V i think SCVMM is quite good (I'm guessing here mind, i've only ever tested service manager and dpm on top of regular good old configmgr which i use extensively) I'd suggest following the guides on the windows-noob forums if you aren't already as it's quite a beast to get setup EDIT: oh and don't forget to pay close attention to the pre-requisites such as the windows ADK tools etc.
