superatticman Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Hi all We currently have an IP webcam that is pointed at a new build that we are able to view over the intranet. However, we would like for this webcam to be able to be viewed from the www too. Has anyone on here managed to achieve this and any recommended methods. Cheers.
m25man Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 (edited) It depends on your IP cameras capabilities but using UStream or Justin.tv is a simple way of off loading the job without having to do any port forwarding or hosting. http://ustre.am/QyRX You can embed the frame from UStream into your own website. If it's just a time lapse you can upload JPEG's to your website rather than mess around with live video. Edited November 20, 2014 by m25man
Arthur Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Open Broadcaster is another. Check out their forum for guides on how to set things up. e.g. How to stream to YouTube / Twitch How to set up your own private RTMP server using nginx Official Overview Guide
Norphy Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 We use a Helix media server stream video and a OneLAN omniserver to record live television. Both solutions integrate with one another and it all seems to work nicely
