Hi all,

I'm trying to deploy a powerpoint template to every machine on the network. Most PCs are windows 7 now and using Office 2013. Is this something I can do via a GPO?

We have a new school powerpoint template designed and would like all staff and students to have it appear as their default template in powerpoint when they come to select?

Many Thanks

Hi,

sorry for the delay, i've been of work.

first you need to make sure the download and install the admx temples from here: Download Office 2013 Administrative Template files (ADMX/ADML) and Office Customization Tool from Official Microsoft Download Center

Then you can set the Templates location for PowerPoint here: User Configuration / Policies / Administration Templates / Microsoft Office 2013 / Shared Paths / Workgroup templates path

that should work for you.

you might need to specify a different location for the blank.ppt (PowerPoints normal.dot) but i cannot remember where that is at the moment.

Ah, you need to install the admx templates on the domain server. Of its something you've not done before please make sure you have a backup and follow the procedures outline by Microsoft. It is a relatively easy thing to do but just to be sure.
