Ok so after blaming schoolsbroadband for my woes today it turns out it was my fault (Well, Microsofts :D)...deployed windows updates via SCCM last night and now today I'm finding our connection is being hammered to the Akamai Technologies distribution IPs from the BITS service. (Roughly 500kb per PC, over 500-600 PCs, completely clogging up a 100/100 leased line! We thought we were being DDoSed or doing the DDoSing to begin with!)

So questions:

1. Have any of you experienced this issue before?

2. How do you have your BITS group policies configured (if at all)? I'm looking at limiting bandwidth it can use, but is this going to effect my ability to deploy applications to machines using SCCM? Or does it only effect updates?
