Enable/Disable workstation internet access from shortcut

Is it possible using netware to create shortcuts for teachers that will push out a policy to a group of workstations that will either enable or disable internet access?

My school is looking at LanSchool for classroom management, but I was wondering as we run a Novell network if we already had the tools we need.

nah, not in Netware. You'll need to deploy something like a proxy for this kind of service - not used Lanschool but it may have the option for it to block certain IP's from accessing the Internet.

IIRC, NetSupport School used to have a block Internet button and when a teacher clicked it it would stop internet access on all the PC's within the room.

LANSchool can block internet access on a per machine basis.

There are ways to do what you want without LANSchool, but it would take some scripting (or coding if you feel like it).

We have both, we developed a system to block internet access on a room by room basks first, then one of the guys wrote something in VB.net that allows rooms or single computers to be enabled / disabled.

If you want more details let me know.
