Usig Proxy and OPENHIVE

Hi guys ,

 

I've recently started a new job at new school and they use OpenHive for filtering etc.

 

I've become curious how this network topology works as to access the Internet they have to use proxy (Any device whether in domain or not)

Question is how to force users to use proxy server and disable traffic through without it ?

I know it can be done by GPO but it works on machines /devices that are not part of domain.

Login scripts with DHCP ?

 

Please answer as I'm dying from curiosity

I'd imagine this is set as a rule on the firewall at your ISP. It typically is to ensure the connection is filtered. Who is your ISP?

I know they have some logon scripts associated with proxy on DC but it doesn't explain fact that any device outside of domain HAS to use proxy server .

Just done CCNA and I'm interested with networking in general

Nothing to do with logon scripts. It will be set at the router / firewall end.
