Hi

 

 

Just wanting some advice really or for someone to tell me im missing something really obvious. I have very little in terms of experience with this but I need to add a range of IPs to our firewall, I have recieved the ASDM software but it is in the form of a .bin file. I have tried to mount this using different pieces of software and none seem to work. Has anyone installed this from the BIN file at all and if so what am I doing wrong? this has kind of been dropped on me as the guy who did this kind of stuff has recently left

Hi -

 

The bin file get installed on the ASA then you download and install the ASDM from the ASA (different from the OS of the ASA). Do you know if it was done by you predecessor? if not to check open a web browser type https://(ip of ASA)/admin and see if you get a page to run the ASDM on the ASA or install locally. Im not a 100% on how to install the bin on the ASA but i think there is enough articles online.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Ive got a better idea of how it works now, having trouble connecting to the ASA through the browser but that's a seperate problem at the minute. Thanks again
