GRitchie Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Hello, I've configured all of the Google Chrome GPO options, however I can't find one to disable custom themes? A lot of pupils are installing silly/inappropriate themes to their browser and we want to stop this and set them to the default. Anyone know of a policy to do this? Thanks!
edutech4schools Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Think this might only be possible from the Google Apps for Ed Admin panel, which offers far more control than Group Policy does.
X-13 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Custom themes, as in from the Google chrome store? If it's that, just blacklist all extensions. Whitelist the ones you want to install. [i'd suggest cfhdojbkjhnklbpkdaibdccddilifddb which is Adblock Plus.] 1

X-13 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 ... or cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm (since it doesn't show a webpage after installation). You used to be able to prevent the page by blocking access to it through GPO... But it looks like that doesn't work any more. 1
johnhart96 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 I just disabled all extensions, that seemed to work for me. Also lock out the store that gives them rarely no way to install themes.
