Max_Power Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Sorry if this should be in a different section. Looking for a company to provide some basic support for an RM network at a local school. RM pricing structure was vast amounts, so looking at other options. While they have an RM support contract they want someone to pop on site every now and again and obviously the RM support doesnt cover software packaging or building workstations. Its only a small primary school, 10 desktops, some laptops, ipads, meru wireless, 1 server and 6 projectors. Looking for the usual things, a site visit every week for a couple of hours to resolve basic IT issues teachers log, and then to also be able to commission any new kit like build laptops or desktops, as well as being able to package software to deploy via RMMC that kind of thing. School is in Manchester, any suggestions and even better guide costs would be appreciated. Cheers
Miscbrah Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Any scope for shooing out RM? Should be a lovely little network.

Unfortunately not, the school is new and under the funding agreement with the DfE. Had to go through procurement process from vendors on the DfE approved vendor list (forgot technical terms for the list), and then enter a 5 year contract with the winning vendor, the capital funding can only be spent with the winning vendor. RM won the procurement process.
elsiegee40 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Whereabouts is the school? Local recommendation would be cheapest
gumbygaz Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 When I first started here, the school was using ICTIC - Independent ICT Services and Advice for Schools - Roy was great help, very good indeed and cheaper than RM. They mainly do the midlands - think there's only the two of them - brum/leicester etc but they may well travel to Manchester. Could also use the RM Partners site for a local partner? Partner Portal
