I don't get this software, it can be working for months then one day all the PCs in the media suite no longer work all with the exact same error and zero changes to anything. Only Adobe....

Program loads up to the "new project" "open project" "help" screen, then as soon as you select any of those options you get "Sorry a serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project"

The following details in event viewer:

Faulting application name: Adobe Premiere Pro.exe, version: 6.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f7177ec

Faulting module name: Premiere.dll, version: 6.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f7177e5

Exception code: 0xc0000005

Fault offset: 0x0000000000012836

Faulting process id: 0x4f4

Faulting application start time: 0x01cfed0a049f9713

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS6\Adobe Premiere Pro.exe

Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS6\Premiere.dll

Runs fine as an administrator, doesn't work as staff or students (tried with both mandatory and local profiles, same thing) I've even tried making my test user a local admin, but still doesn't work. I've made sure appdata is local, and a couple of other random fixes that have fixed issues for me in the past with Adobe programs but nothings working. I'm completely stumped as to where this error has come form. I don't think it's updated either.

When i uninstalled and reinstalled one it loaded fine on first attempt, then failed every subsequent attempt. I've tried the Shift+alt to clear preferences trick too.

licensing issue?

inside the users profile in appdata in the adobe folder there is a logfile which details EVERYTHING the hideous program is doing and that might give you more information

\Users\\AppData\Local\temp

logs held:

PDApp.log – Contains calls between the launch components.

Oobelib.log -- Contains the actions that you took in the user interface during the launch process.

Amt3.log – Contains licensing-related information.

Well it's not a licensing issue, just checked that. Not checked those other two logs yet though, will check now

I've found what temporarily fixes the issue.....

If i stop the CS6ServiceManager process and delete the entire Adobe folder in roaming AppData it'll load fine, then if i close it down and attempt to reopen it ill get the error again until i've done the same thing again. Although CS6ServiceManager doesn't always let me stop it as it's often restarting itself instantly

EDIT: saying that, it worked two or three times, just tried it again and it didn't work. What the hell!

EDIT2: doesn't appear to be any useful information in those logs :(

EDIT3: I loaded up adobe, waited a while so i could see the precise time on a log file, but it appears that absolutely nothing is logged into the adobe logs once i press a button to cause the error. The only error i get is that i've posted in the OP :( The only part of that error that changes every time is the "Faulting process id" which appears to be different every time.

Ok not sure what i changed in the policies, but for some reason it now works perfectly if i use a local profile, but as soon as i apply the mandatory profile back to the user it fails. (as far as i remember i didn't change anything otherwise i'd have written it down!)

Really need this to work properly with our mandatory profiles...guessing i may have to put something else into the profile for adobe

EDIT: Yay i fixed it, let a working local profile load up, ran adobe etc. copied their ntuser.dat and exported the Adobe section from it, imported that into my ntuser.man that i use for students (copying it and testing it first of course) and it's working properly with the mandatory profile now :)
