InterwebsGuy Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I love my Microserver at home - one of the most useful things I've ever bought. Only seems to cost about £35 a year to run too (electricity wise, on 24x7). Anyone who is on the fence with considering one, do it!

I'd liken it, in both ways, to a STB. I wouldn't say it's all that much different to a TiVo or Sky+ box. Perhaps a tiny bit louder, but not much. Let's put it this way, mine sits in the corner by the TV, HTK and Sky box and it's not really noticeable. Edit to add. There seems to be a bit of a community for these things out there.... I've seen people mentioning you can swap the fans out for near-silent ones. I never found the need too, though. Edited October 20, 2014 by InterwebsGuy 1

I never found the need too, though. as above though I would add I took the horrendously bright blue led out of the hp logo on the front and hid it inside the case as for a tiny led it can light up an entire room it is just that bright 1

I like the idea of taking it out though!
