Get Data from Windows Server 2003 HDD with Windows 7 Machine

It looks like the CPU on one of our older 2003 Servers is down. My Network Admin asked me to get the data off of them. Every external HD case we have only allows for SATA drives, which these are not. I attached them to a Windows 7 system, and they are recognized in the Bios, but not in the OS. I opened up a CMD window with DiskPart and it shows up when I List Disk, but no volumes are attached. List Disk only reveals the HD I booted with.

 

Is it possible to recover this data with Windows 7?

Unable to access it currently. It could only support 0 or 1. Not sure which one this one is.

Was the RAID managed by Windows, or an external controller? Some of the fake RAID arrays can be read (RAID 1) and Windows RAID 1 arrays are fairly straightforward. If it's RAID 0 (unlikely) or used a proper hardware RAID card you'll probably need to get that card into the Windows 7 PC, or stuff another HDD+OS or live CD+USB HDD into the server to get the files.

 

If the card failed, you'll need to look at replacing and matching it.

 

My guess is that they're SAS on a backplane with a hardware RAID card. I would personally see if there's a free port to shove a HDD into to install Windows on, so that I could copy the files across to another medium from within Windows, but a live CD would be easier.
