neonetman Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 I'm trying to find a (free) piece of software that will allow me to create a custom screensaver consisting of a single image (for corporate branding). The aim is then to copy the resulting SCR file to the machines and set it as default using GPO. Can anyone recommend a suitable piece of software? Cheers
synaesthesia Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Not off the top of my head, although first hit on Google "DIY Screensaver" seems reasonable. Mainly posting to point out the obvious issue of having a single image as a screensaver... not so much of an issue these days but it is still possible to screenburn an LCD. People who own older smartphones will testify to this, as do people that run establishments with screens that spend 8 hours a day turned on with a fairly static image! Plasma are FAR worse than LCD but still, don't run the risk.
fairm010 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Agree with synaesthesia, the idea of a screensaver is it is a moving image as to avoid screen burn. Even if you have the image scaled down but moving round the screen will help.
Arthur Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 (edited) I'm trying to find a (free) piece of software that will allow me to create a custom screensaver consisting of a single image (for corporate branding). IrfanView can create slideshows in SCR format. http:// http://www.7tutorials.com/how-create-screensaver-irfanview Edited October 17, 2014 by Arthur 1
