Quackers Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Are Iiyama Monitors still a very decent brand in the flat screen world? I know they were really good in the CRT days. I just did a naughty and decided to go back to having a desktop as i kind of miss it and just ordered a Mac Mini, so need a monitor to go with it. Was thinking of going Overclockers on my lunch break, is this one a decent one Iiyama Prolite E2483HS-B1 24" Widescreen LED Monitor - Black [E2483HS-B1] ? I would love an Apple Cinema display but i ain't got £900 spare to spend on a monitor as well.
synaesthesia Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 They're not bad. They won't win awards in colour quality/reproduction, certainly not at that price point but they are comparable with the Samsungs and Benq's of the same ilk.
HTCPCP Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 I have a pair of ProLite P1905S-B2 monitors on one machine, and an amazing ProLite XB2783HSU-B1. Can't fault either of them, and have been using Iiyama monitors since I started buying computers.

PotNoodleTech Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 None of the cheap TFT monitors from any brand are going to be anywhere near as good as the Iiyama CRT of old (I was more of a Mitsubishi Diamondtron man back in the day but hey,..) That being said, the 24" and 27" Iiyama TFT's we have are great value for money for general office tasks. Not got fantastic contrast, or colour balance, vibrancy... but for £125 for a 24" Widrescreen 1080p with HDMI etc - you can't have it all!
Crumpet Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 We had a batch of over 150 Llyama Monitors bought about 4 years ago. We've had minimal problems with them. From what i can recall, one went fuzzy/ dim. A pupil punched another with his fist and cracked the glass. No other issues aside from that.
