Dos_Box Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Whilst not strictly CLEO news this will be worthy of the attention of our members from Lancashire: 157 Lancashire County Council bosses axed - Lancashire Evening Post That is a lot of heads rolling. I wonder what the redundancy packages are going to be like?!
featured_spectre Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Wow....there must be a serious reshuffle going on.
ellsandell Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Good to see them trying to protect the front-line staff rather than the higher paid execs etc. (or so they say anyway)
MatthewL Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Will be watching this and seeing how it pans out.
SpuffMonkey Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I guess it'll be OK for a while... My brother in law is pretty high up in Sefton - they've done serious cutting all round and it really upsets him that he's having to destroy all the good stuff he did before the cuts - and the cuts are nowhere near done yet. In his opinion - all that will be left of council services in another 5 years is what he calls "Chins and bins" - ie mandatory care of the old and rubbish collections. I suppose what you think of that depends on your outlook - but personally I rather like libraries, parks, youth clubs and activities, etc etc
