[sims] Achievement Reports with totals?

Does anyone know how to do a sims.net achievement report for the following, with totals: Year Group, Tutor Group & House?

I'd set up a report under Focus > Student, then add in their ID (no need to add names unless you want to be able to drill down to that level of detail), house, year, tutor, then add "Total achievement points" from the "Conduct" area.

 

Output type should be Excel, untick "Suppress Duplicates"

 

Once in Excel, you can use a Pivot Table to summarise by whichever column you like. If you're handy with VBA, you can set up a report template to automatically pivot the data for you when the report is run in SIMS.

OK will have a go - so you are saying that SIMS reports cannot do the totals? I'd have to do that in Excel?

It can do totals for students, but AFAIK there's no way of doing it by group straight from SIMS without some manipulation in Excel afterwards

I've hit upon a problem.

 

Where students have multiple achievements given excel shows their name only on the first row:

 

eg:

 

Megan Newman Year 12 12J F Academic 3 06-Mar-13

Academic 3 06-Mar-13

Academic 1 06-Mar-13

Outstanding Work 100 08-Mar-13

Visit to school 1 08-Mar-13

Academic Achievement 3 04-Nov-13

Therefore the pivot table is not counting correctly

You have to uncheck "Suppress Duplicates" on the "Default Output" section

 

EDIT:

 

also, if it's just the YTD total you want, the report will run much quicker if you use the Conduct > Total points" fields rather than subreports - you will need subreports if you want to filter it though
