Lorfarius Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Bit of a strange one but we have a new BenQ DLP Projector on site and if a teacher freezes the image on screen after 10 minutes the projector goes into Eco mode. I've been through every single menu item and can't seem to see what's causing it. Any ideas?
OxfordBlue Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 is your lamp in smarteco mode? try changing it. projector is trying to save lamp life.
Lorfarius Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 Just had a look at that setting, there's an option of 3 Economy, Normal and Smart Eco. Seems to have been set to Normal but I'll try the others!
OxfordBlue Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 is the laptop or pc going to sleep whist the freeze is on?
Lorfarius Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) The laptop goes to sleep but only when Freeze is used. Have turned off all power settings. Edited October 13, 2014 by Lorfarius
OxfordBlue Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 go into the menu > system setup:basic > operation settings > is auto power off set to any time? if it is try extending or disabling.
OxfordBlue Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 also check the power settings for the laptop, if it's going to sleep and timed to switch off the display, the projector isn't getting a source anymore. I've got a short throw Benq here, freeze is working if the laptop is on, if I put it to sleep then the projector goes off.
Lorfarius Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 Been a few days but still having problems. I tried creating a GPO which disabled the power settings settings completely, I've also been through every option on the projector menu and either disabled or set it to the longest possible timer but without fail everytime the freeze feature is used the laptop goes to sleep.
OxfordBlue Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) I forwarded your thread onto BenQ, as we can't see how freezing the image is causing the laptop to sleep, the two shouldn't be related. Edited October 21, 2014 by OxfordBlue
Lorfarius Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 Thanks OxfordBlue, it's bizarre for sure. It only happens when the Freeze option is used as I tried leaving it on for 9 hours normally just to see what would happen and it was fine. Soon as I press Freeze it starts.
