NikChillin Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) hi all, I have a new graphic card but can't get it to work. When I put it in the pc won't boot and all I get is a black screen with a cursor, I am running windows 7 and the motherboard is an Asus GAZ77 DS3H. I have been googling it for a week now and all the remedies don't seem to work. (Check bios settings, install driver and shutdown prior to reboot etc. I even had a replacement sent in case it was faulty. Any help would be most welcome. I am stuck... sob.... synaesthesia Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Is your power supply up to it? Power connectors hooked up to it? 2
mac_shinobi Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 What have you done or tried so far ? Updated your motherboards bios ? What make / model and power rating is your psu ? Presume it is providing enough power for the gtx 660 ? 1
NikChillin Posted October 12, 2014 Author Posted October 12, 2014 Novatech PowerStation Black Edition 850W Silent ATX2 Modular Power Supply, would think it would be fine.... Looked for bios updates and it is up to date... looked at the legacy and UEFI settings...
mac_shinobi Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 If you boot into vga mode and remove previous gpu drivers and if possible install current or slightly older gpu drivers for this card does that help ?
