We have created accounts for all our staff and students and they are slowly being introduced to it. We have had a couple of users get messages to say they need to get a code sent to their phone in order to verify their identity before being able to login.

As part of the process of becoming more secure and fighting spammers, Google sometimes asks users at first signin to verify their identity via phone before they are able to sign into their account. The user jbloggs will receive a notification via phone which will contain a passcode. This passcode will enable them to login. jbloggs should login through the web for the first time to verify identity.

Being a School I dont really want students being asked to supply their phone numbers.

I looked in security and 2 step verification is not ticked.

Any ideas how I can stop this happening?
