clareq Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 We have an access database (accbd) which is shared by many users. Since moving to Office 2013 I've noticed a number of mdb files database(x).mdb, where x is a number, being created in the same folder, and holding the same information. Is it safe to delete these files, or even better, prevent them from being created?
localzuk Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 As far as I can tell, this might be related to an old bug where having "compact on close" enabled. Disabling it should stop it happening. 1
clareq Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 Thank you - I've turned that off - am I safe to delete the copies?
localzuk Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 I think so, yeah. I'd try moving them out of the directory for a bit, see what happens and if its fine, delete later.
