Exam voice Recording

Hi there,

 

Our English department is doing a lot of iGCSE Speaking exams at the moment. We're currently using some Sony voice recorders for this.

The annoying thing is that the recorders have no way of naming the files, so we have to manually rename them after. This is a massive pain when we have hundreds!

 

I've got two old iPod touches that I could use, does anyone know a really REALLY simple App that would ask for a name & then save a file with that name? (The voice memo app doesn't )

 

Just wondering how other schools are dealing with voice exams.

The exam boards want them on CDs so i just use the built-in windows sounds recorder and then burn it to CD.

 

We're going to get some ipads soon though so i'm also interested in simple apps.

We're using Audacity with a USB Mixing Desk connected to a semi-decent microphone on a stand. Second year doing it this way and seems to work nicely.

We brought a few sets of USB Singstar Mics for our MFL dept they use them with audacity.
