Bought one of those for myself a few years back (got rid) and there's a pair of them sitting in one of our backup servers - they work really rather well and have done for a fair few years.

Yes, Definitely liking the look of them seem simple to install too.

Scan have them... but let me tell you.. they aren't cheap. Thats whats putting me off... been looking all over for something similar cheaper but not looking good so far.

I'm presuming... that the dock will fit into any 5.25" bay ?

Just have to be careful - some cases don't just have 3 straight through bays, often with little shelfs sticking out between them which will fall foul of such products.

 

Bring back the old Coolermaster Stackers. Could have 4 of those bays in those beasts and still enough room for an optical & floppy!

Yes - I've built a couple of backup servers with them in the past. I think this one used single bays:

but the case was good - the Antec 1200, with 12 5.25" bays, plenty of room for multiple drive caddies. If this is for a home device, bear in mind the Icy Dock devices aren't the quietest - they are compact units and the cooling fans are a bit small and buzzy. Personally, for my home server I've gone for a 5-disk array in one of these:

You need to add a power supply, a bunch of cables and cable ties.

 

Startech's site might come in handy - the harddrive caddies section is worth looking through, just to get an idea of the kind of thing that's available:

Just looking back through that thread, it was the Chenbro 5-drive caddy I bought in the end:

They're not in stock at LinITX, but might be availabel elsewhere.
