Zourous Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I'm trying to copy the 64bit W7 partition off my bootcamped imac (late 2013) using Windows PE on a USB or CD (tried both) but as soon as it boots up to the prompt I'm left with no active keyboard or mouse. I then want to use imagex to transfer my image off so I can restore my image to a normal laptop. Anyone got this combination working or know another way I can do it? I'm starting to panic as I'm running out of time to get this done.
Norphy Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 This is an ugly way of doing it but it'd work. Download and install a trial copy of Parallels or possibly Fusion. Parallels can be set to boot from a Bootcamp partition, I think Fusion can too. Have that boot up with your PE image and take your snapshot. Make sure you sysprep your Windows image first 1
Zourous Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Thanks Norphy, might give that a go if all else fails.
Norphy Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 What sort of keyboard and mouse are you using? If you're using Bluetooth ones, that may be the problem. I doubt that WindowsPE has a Bluetooth stack. Try USB ones?
Zourous Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Don't worry I've sorted it now. Just had to add USB (presumably USB 3.0) drivers to the PE disk and now it works. Had to do some reading up, which is hard to do in peace at the moment, but got there in the end.
