We have a handful of laptops which aren't on the domain. They run Windows 7.

Half of them show the options of user at the logon screen - and we have a guest account on them with no password (use for assemblies etc.)

The other half want usernames typing in, and won't let me set a blank password for guest.

It's not the end of the world, but it is pretty frustrating. Does anyone know a solution?

Thanks.

Control panel / users / Advanced - require Ctrl-Alt-Del - untick (that might be just for domain comps)

Also try changing the workgroup name then back. That should do it.
