LosOjos Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I'm trying to squeeze another 6 - 12 months out of my netbook while I save for a new laptop. I'm going to put in an SSD and also want to upgrade the memory. However, the prices being charged for this memory are a bit steep IMO, so I'm here with my cap in my hand hoping one of you fine folk have some lying around gathering dust that you'd be willing to sell to me fairly cheap?
mac_shinobi Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) There is this thread - someone in there might have a stick like this ? http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/142374-old-ram-sticks-what-do.html Failing that Crucial : http://uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/memory/ct25664ac800 Edited September 23, 2014 by mac_shinobi

Finding the memory isn't the problem, it's the cost - nearly £25 for one 2GB stick of crappy old RAM stings!
ICTDirect_Dave Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Eeeeep! £25? We'll do one for about fifteen!
mac_shinobi Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Why only 2gb - does the netbook not support 4gb etc
ICTDirect_Dave Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 4GB DDR2 SODIMMs aren't cheap though.
LosOjos Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 Why only 2gb - does the netbook not support 4gb etc 2GB max! it's 4 years old and a netbook so I'm not expecting miracles lol just need it to get me through code clubs for the next few months until I can buy a proper laptop @ICTDirect_Dave £15 sounds good to me!

Arthur Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Why only 2GB - does the netbook not support 4gb etc A 4GB DDR2 SO-DIMM would cost more than the netbook is worth (and many Atom netbooks are limited to 2GB max so it wouldn't work anyway).
