gh256 Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Hi, On the site http://www.bishophatfield.herts.sch.uk/ej/ I have the default menu at the top "Home | News | Parents" etc How on earth do I change the text and point it somewhere else. I dont want one called user guide etc.
Guest metalmonkey Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 In the joomla Admin backend, delete or unpublish the User Guide module.
gh256 Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 That doesnt work I want to change the top main menu so it is called what I want and links to sections I want.
woody Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 It's in the menu manager in the Admin backend. Select Userguide, and hit delete top right.
gh256 Posted November 19, 2007 Author Posted November 19, 2007 That doesnt work either, the menus are still in the front. Menu manager controls the menus at the side, its not for the one main menu at the very top. Hope do you edit the top menus, surely someone has done this????? Or do you all use the default menu? I want to change the menu below: http://www.bishophatfield.herts.sch.uk/menu.JPG The back-end shown under here does not control that: http://www.bishophatfield.herts.sch.uk/menu2.JPG
linkazoid Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Click on Main Menu from that drop down list. Contained within is the option to remove the user menu.
gh256 Posted November 19, 2007 Author Posted November 19, 2007 Ok works now, but that is a very hidden way of going about it, don't you think so? Thanks for your help.
gh256 Posted November 19, 2007 Author Posted November 19, 2007 Any idea how you can get a sort of menu tree. Say I put my mouse over parents and the the sub menu is displayed with results and reports etc in it?
Dodgex1 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Suckerfish anbd Supersuckerfish modules are good for drop downs in Joomla. There are also lots of options listed here http://extensions.joomla.org/index.php?option=com_mtree&task=listcats&cat_id=1788&Itemid=35
gh256 Posted November 19, 2007 Author Posted November 19, 2007 Any one got any examples of ones they have used?
