Add background colour to xibo region

I am trying to set up the areas for our layout using xibo. Only problem is how do i add a background colour to a region. I can add it behind the text but when it scrolls across the screen it looks terrible.

This is one of my background images. The way I do it is draw a box onto my background image for where the region will go. Looks OK when it's on the screen.
