robjduk Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) Greetings, Wonder if anyone here knows of a way to remove a group policy from a client, without domain accessibility? I have tried signing in as a local admin and adding group policy snap ins to mmc however it only shows local policy's and wonder if someone can point me towards a safe way of deleting them. In case you were wondering, I have been tinkering with direct access of late and although it works very well, I accidently took the server out earlier which renders all DA enabled clients without access to any network share / DC access. I reconfigured the server correctly however the clients can not reach a DC for the latest GP and I am stuck. I feel I need a work around should something go down in the future and need a fix. Its still early days for direct access here so just want to iron these flaws out before a mass deployment. Thanks all Edited September 18, 2014 by robjduk
MordyT Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 A new user account should dump all user gpos if no DC to apply them. Removing the PC from the domain should dump all user and PC gpos. Otherwise, somewhere it caches the GPOs on the PCs - not sure where.
