Munki 2 is a major upgrade to Munki.

 

It features a new, customizable, App Store-like user interface, replacing Managed Software Update.

 

It also, sadly, drops support for Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).

Munki 2.2 has just been released. It now supports configuration profiles natively.

This is the official release of Munki 2.5, a bug-fix and feature release of the Munki tools.

 

Change highlights for the 2.5 release:

 

• Support for automatic/background installs of Apple updates. Setting UnattendedAppleUpdates to true in Munki's preferences enables the following behavior in OS X 10.10+:
  
• Updates that declare no "must-close" applications, or have one or more "must-close" applications, none of which is running, and do not require a logout or restart will be installed as part of a normal periodic background run without notifying the user.
  
• Better handling of embedded pkginfo pre/post scripts to avoid issues with line-ending formats (in the case where a pkginfo file is saved with an editor that uses Windows-style line endings) 39cf5e8
  
• Fix for issue that occurred when trying to extract an icon from an application with a malformed Info.plist.
  
• Syslog fixes for logouthelper.

• HTTP/HTTPS connection attempts now timeout after 60 seconds, up from 10.
