A teacher wants to be able to assess some pieces of pupils' work but the files are obviously stored in individual work folders on a file server. Does anyone have a method for overcoming this situation? She has suggested naming such pieces of work with the same name within each user's folder and searching for the files with that name and I can obviously give her access to the home folder which contains the pupils' work folders. I just wondered if anyone did anything else.

In our, primary, school the teachers have access to student folders. However, at secondary, you have to be more careful particularly about giving write access to student work. Exam boards take a dim view of teachers being able to modify course work.

We have a Public share where teachers can have a folder shared between them and their class and students can leave work for marking... there are probably more appropriate and more sophisticated ways of doing this, but for nice little private school girls this solution works for us.
