Loggin on to user multiple times concurrently

This is a simple question, that I've never been 100% sure of the answer. Is it Ok to log on to a single user account(student type mandatory profile) multiple times at the same time ie they are logging on all at the same time. The reason behind this is a that a teacher wants to have a student user account that he can log on before start of lesson so when students arrive all logged on ready to work, they can later then save work in a shared area. (I work in a behavioural school , some times the logging on process can cause upset amongst the students, wastes time etc etc so he wants to be ready to go at start of lesson) And rather than creating half a dozen accounts, the teacher knows password to the one account, ie quick and easy.

 

For a simple question it required quite a long explanation !

From a technical standpoint there aren't any big issues I can think of. When we have exams or training sessions we'll use IMPERO to log into all the computers in a room with a generic guest account.

We have whole class logons so there are 33 little angels logging on with the same logon at the same time.

Doesn't seem to cause any issues here

I have done it before in the past on many occasions, but I was never really sure at the back of my mind whether it was the done thing to do. Like so many things in network management, you do things that seem to be ok until one day someone says , if you do that it will cause this or that etc etc, even though you've never had problems.

The only problem with this is sharing the 'documents' folder with other users. I have a generic account as a backup and for guest users, no problems with multiple logons.

 

There will be an issue if the user has opened a file in one place and tries to open it on another computer. It will probably be locked unless it's a database. Otherwise, assuming no used documents are open then logging on in various places should be fine.

Not sure what you mean by "opened a file in one place and tries to open it on another computer.", What's the difference to a normal account opening a file in one place and then another ?
