Accessing linux partitions from windows

Does anyone know of a freeware program that can read linux partitions from windows 'without requiring local admin privileges'?

 

I have tried these 3

 

Ext2Fsd

 

Linux Reader from DiskInternals

 

Ext2explore

 

But all require local admin rights.

just boot of a linux live cd and that will let you mount and read them and also attach tot he network and move the content anywhere you need to

Thanks for the info. It's not for me though, here is a bit more detail:

 

I need to install this program for a member of staff without giving him admin rights. He has an external USB drive formatted for linux and is unreadable on windows. The 3 programs listed above can read it, but they all require local admin rights. Is there a way around it?

Maybe ask him to reformat the drive as either ntfs or fat32. Either of those two formats will be perfectly readable and usable by Linux.

 

You shouldn't be having to install things to work with his weird operating system - and I say that as a very ardent linux fan boy.

That's one option, but unfortunately he has a lot of data on it.

 

Just found Paragon ExtFS for Windows but haven't tried it yet. Free for personal use but not commercial. Might give it a go as a trial and if it works get a commercial license for $20 (his budget of course!)

Just an update:

 

The paragon software will run without admin logon - according to their tech support dept (haven't tried it myself). However, it is a similar price to a 64GB memory stick so i left him 2 options but he will probably buy one of those and transfer relevant data to the stick (ntfs/fat32).
